Stepped Ground and Changes in Pool Barrier Height
Where the ground beside a pool barrier changes in steps or levels, each change in height needs to be considered when assessing the effectiveness of the barrier.
A step, raised surface, retaining structure or elevated section of ground can create a higher standing point and potentially reduce the effective height of the pool fence.
This illustration demonstrates why pool barriers on stepped or changing ground levels need to be assessed according to the surrounding surfaces rather than simply the manufactured height of the fence.
