Measuring the Minimum 1200mm Pool Barrier Height

A pool barrier must maintain a minimum effective height of 1200mm from the finished ground level to the top of the barrier.

The measurement should be taken from the stable surface immediately beneath the barrier. Raised soil, garden beds, paving or other changes to the surrounding ground can reduce the effective barrier height and may result in a previously compliant barrier becoming non-compliant.
